About Me

Gavin Walburgh was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and immigrated to Australia with his family, when he was ten years old. After settling in Melbourne,  he spent a blissfully vagrant youth in the migrant rich suburbs of Nrth Dandenong. He moved to London in the early nineties, travelled to numerous parts of the world, studied a BA in Media Communications at RMIT majoring in Film/TV, before moving to Sydney in 2001. He began with his own production company in 2001, Dream Capture Films, making producing and directing documentaries particularly for the non-profit sector. In 2007, he produced and directed a documentary, “Small Steps Big Journey’s” before working commercially for the last ten years  as and editor on observational documentaries, short films, lifestyle, Reality TV, for every major broadcast channel. He is an eternal student, constantly curious about life and the place we all have in finding our Ikigia (reason for being).
